Congratulations to Wollaston Manor in Quincy and Pynchon Edgewater Apartments in Springfield for being named 2013 National Communities of Quality by the National Affordable Housing Management Association, NAHMA. The annual awards recognize multifamily affordable housing communities nationwide for excellence in how they manage the physical, financial and social conditions of their properties.
Wollaston Manor was honored in the Exemplary Development for the Elderly category. The 170 unit development, which was built in 1974, is managed by Housing Management Resources. The 612-unit Pynchon Edgewater Apartments was honored as an Exemplary Family Development. The development is managed by Peabody Properties.
In announcing the awards, NAHMA cited strong resident programs at each development, as well as participation in MassHousing's Tenant Assistance Program, or TAP. Offered exclusively to rental communities financed or overseen by MassHousing, TAP provides participating developments access to trainings and conferences for property management staff, resident programs and conflict resolution services. Both sites took advantage of TAP resident programs. Wollaston Manor also utilized dispute resolution services, and a Pynchon Edgewater staff member attended multiple TAP management trainings.
Congratulations to Wollaston Manor and Pynchon Edgewater Apartments, and to Housing Management Resources and Peabody Properties.
