If you’re interested in purchasing a foreclosed home in Brockton, Saugus or Worcester, you may be able to obtain affordable financing and rehabilitation grants through MassHousing’s NSP Purchase & Rehabilitation program. The program is being made available through a partnership between the Agency, the cities of Brockton, Saugus and Worcester, area nonprofits and participating lenders.
Through the NSP Purchase & Rehabilitation program, homebuyers qualify for a MassHousing Purchase and Rehab loan, and receive a second loan, funded through the federal Neighborhood Stabilization Program, to cover rehabilitation costs. There’s no limit on the second loan, which doesn’t have to be repaid as long as the buyer remains in the home.
