For more than 50 years, Jewish Community Housing for the Elderly (JCHE) has offered innovative housing where older adults of all backgrounds can thrive independently within a supportive environment.
JCHE is a non-profit and non-sectarian organization. The seniors who live in JCHE's housing communities find them affordable, safe and supportive with programs and services that are life-sustaining and life-enhancing.
MassHousing has had a longstanding partnership with (JCHE) and the Agency has helped finance two of their supportive housing communities – the 209-unit Genesis House in Brighton and the 150-unit Shillman House in Framingham.
Additionally, The Agency recently committed $45.9 million to help finance the major renovation of JCHE’s 199-unit Golda Meir House in Newton.
"JCHE develops and manages top-quality supportive, affordable housing for elderly tenants that goes far beyond being a place to live," said MassHousing Executive Director Tim Sullivan. "Depending on their situation, the seniors who live in JCHE communities receive all the attention and support they need to enjoy their lives in a community setting with other seniors."
